A Bountiful Harvest
A Bountiful Harvest
All this wonderful rain has seen the third lot of mulberries appear this summer - and the passionfruit vine has been in non stop flowering and fruiting mode. The harvest of not only my backyard fruits, but that of rural industries (especially grazing) in Western Queensland will be a most rewarding one in 2010.

The Biggest Clean Up!
Throughout Western Queensland, the after flood clean up continues. This means many different things to many different people - flood mud brings both tears and joy in differing amounts. However, the long term optimistic outcome is that we have the most amazing season ahead of us, as we move into autumn and winter. May the sunny days continue so clean ups can continue, and the pastures grow!
Oh - and thanks must go to those many amazing people who are giving so willingly throughout the west to assist with the flood mud clean up! SES workers, government community relief teams and local council worker assistance is greatly appreciated.

Water, Water Every Where!
Today, the Western Rivers Carer has seen her rain gauge become inundated with water. Many other rain gauges have also seen this kind of water treatment in the last 24 hours in Western Qld.
What a memory this monsoon rain depression has left for many people!

Emptying the Rain Gauge is Becoming an Everyday Chore!
Emptying the Rain Gauge is Becoming an Everyday Chore!
There is widespread raining falling over most of Western Queensland yet again, and wandering out to check the rain gauge is almost a regular habit. A monsoon trough has slowly crept from the Northern Territory to Western Queensland in the last 24 hours, and how wonderful it all is.
The skies are grey and the rain is gently falling as the rain gauge fills.
Can life get any better?
